Great Concert April 19, 2010 Dale Gisclair 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
This DVD is more than I expected. The Blu-Ray picture was amazing with incredible sound to match. The concert itself was wonderful with heavy emphasis on his early career. It was great to see him perform some of his early stuff. Elton may not be able to hit the high notes like he used to, but his voice is still great.
Fantástico! April 13, 2010 Norberto Messina (Vitoria, ES, BR) O presente de aniversário foi o Elton para todos nós. Três horas de um dos melhores shows que já vi. Faltaram algumas músicas como Skyline Pigeon, Candle in the Wind, entre outras. Mas não comprometeu. Os arranjos estão fantásticos e o Coral de Adolescentes do Brooklin, magnífico. Para comprar e assistir sempre.
elton riffs make it worthwhile April 7, 2010 lonebeaut (land of enchantment) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I must confess that even though we're practically the same age and I've spent my adult life listening to and enjoying Elton John, I've never bought any of his music. But just recently, after happily indulging in Macca's "Good Evening NYC" and "Electric Arguments" that I ordered from Amazon, I decided to go for my first Elton John purchase. I chose "Elton 60" because it looked like it would be fairly comprehensive, and, judging from the reviews, would present Elton at his mature, technical best. His piano riffs alone made it worthwhile. He's got such short, stubby fingers, but they can really fly, and he seemed to have plenty of energy to get through a long concert. Even my husband, who's a jazz fan and hard to please musically, got off on his piano playing. I found this DVD set especially fun because I dislike going to concerts in person, so this was a way to participate that eliminated all the hassle. The birthday segment in the middle was, I guess, necessary but awkward (thanks to Robin Williams, who kept interrupting poor Bernie Taupin). But the only real criticism I have is that Elton's enunciation was uniformly poor (either that or it was the acoustics of Madison Square Garden). Interestingly, it was much easier to understand the lyrics in the videos of past Elton John performances that were included. Anyway, I highly recommend this DVD set.

A must for the Elton John fan. April 3, 2010 Cobblestone Kid (Lincoln, IL) The entire collection is a pleasant walk down Memory Lane. Ever the showman, Elton is captured for us to keep.
