As programs ranging from iKolchak: The Night Stalker/i to, well, iNight Stalker/i have proven, it's difficult to scare TV audiences on a weekly basis, but iSupernatural/i seems to broken the trend. Not only has its blend of iRoute 66/i and iThe X-Files/i provided some of the more chilling TV moments in recent history, but its core story--two brothers, Sam and Dean Winchester (Jensen Ackles and Jared Padalecki) battle the forces of evil to avenge their late mother--has been compelling enough to warrant a second season, which is compiled in its entirety on this six-disc set. Season Two maintains the show's "Monster of the Week" approach while adding compelling layers to the main characters and their history; in "What Is And What Should Never Be," a djinn offers the boys a glimpse of how their lives might've played out had their mother not succumbed to demonic forces, while the two-part "All Hell Breaks Loose" brings the season to a close with not only a rift between Sam and Dean, but the gates of Hell swinging open to unleash monstrous spirits. And if that's not enough of a creepshow for you, the boys also encounter a cannibal clown ("Everybody Loves a Clown"), seductive demons ("Crossroad Blues"), a town gripped by mass psychosis ("Croatoan"), as well as a barrage of ghosts, vampires and werewolves. If it's chills you want, the second season of iSupernatural/i has them by the score. There's also a wealth of extras on the iComplete Second Season/i set that should please longtime fans and help newcomers catch up with developments since the show's debut. Informative and entertaining commentaries are featured on three episodes: "In My Time of Dying" (by Ackles and Padalecki), "What Is And What Never Should Be" (by series creator Eric Kripke), and "All Hell Breaks Loose, Part 1" (by Kripke, writer Sera Gambles, and director Robert Singer). There's also a featurette on "All Hell Breaks Loose Part 2" that offers observations by the cast and crew on the season as a whole; viewers should note that the 11-minute short is difficult to find and is accessible only after accessing "The Devil's Road Map," a virtual tour of the places (and monsters) visited throughout the show's history.  Great show just won't always play July 4, 2010

This is a great show, unfortunately disk one wouldn't play on either of the computers I have in my house (both Macs). After reaching the max number of returns I decided to keep it because it would play on my DVD player, which I unfortunately won't have when I go to college in the fall. However, Amazon customer support was great through this and made a poor experience with a product a lot better. Besides the problem this season is great and the show just keeps getting better!

When I received my package i watched the show immediately, but once i was on disc three it wouldn't play. when i checked the disc there were dots on the back which could have only been made by the manufacturer. so i asked for a replacement for the season. when the replacement came i checked all of the discs beforehand and noticed that disc 2 had some major scratches on them. luckily the scratches were able to be fixed when i took them to play-and-trade and it works perfectly. but if you want to avoid what happened to me I strongly suggest that you buy season 2 from someone other than amazon. the other seasons of supernatural that i also bought on amazon turned out fine though.

Season 2 better than season 1. Would highly recommend to fans of the show. DVD shipped on the next day and received it in 4 days. Disc one wouldn't play on my PS3 but all other discs worked fine.

The item came in excellent condition and I was very pleased with it. However, it was missing some content (like gag reels, interviews, etc) I do not believe this had anything to do with the person I ordered from.
br /It took a little longer to arrive than I anticipated, but the postal service isn't as fast these days! :)
br /I would definitely order from this supplier again.

Supernatural is a horor series, but there's also comic relief thrown in, too. In season 1, that comic relief came mostly from Jensen Ackles. In season 2, though, Jared Padalecki proves he can do comedy, too.

br /My favorite and funniest episode of this season was the episode where we first meet the Trickster. In this episode, the Winchester brothers take turns narrating to Bobby the sequence of events that recently happened to them. As they each narrate, we get to see how each brother really sees the other.
br /When Sam is narrating, he portrays Dean as a glutton with both women and food. And when Dean is narrating, he portrays Sam as having the personality of both a sappy self-help guru and a bossy hall-monitor. It's hilarious!

br /I gave this show 4 stars for the same reason I gave the first season 4 stars: the show is highly entertaining, but also steals too much from other movies.
